This is a provincial town with most facilities such as supermarkets, schools, small hospital and first aid, theater, library, weekly market and vocational education. The capital of the province (Viseu) is 30 km away. The Caramulo is a beautiful nature reserve where various walks have been plotted. The Montebelo golf course is approximately 20 km away.
