This is an idyllic quinta that borders the river Mondego over a length of about 800 meters. The rocks, the terraces that were formerly used for agriculture, the ruins and the good access make this quinta unique and a small paradise where you will see the kingfisher and otters. There are several ruins. The intention of the owner is to register the biggest ruin for habitation. The building options must be checked with the municipality.
How are the facilities?
The quinta has a number of water sources, including one water mine that in principle always provides water. To obtain drinking water it is probably best to drill a well. Electricity via the grid will be too expensive. It is better to generate electricity yourself via solar energy or perhaps hydropower.
Outdoor space?
The quinta has an area of approximately 5,5 hectares (in reality about 6,5 ha). The plot is leafy, especially with mimosa, but between these trees are several other trees such as oak, ash, pine and rests of some old olive trees. Part of the quinta was farmland, judging by the granite terrace walls.
Specifics?
Plots along the river are becoming increasingly scarce and are often difficult to reach, unlike this quinta. In addition to the good accessibility, there is also a lot of privacy thanks to the trees and beautiful rocks.
Several river beaches can be made and the river offers various recreational opportunities.
Where is it?
This quinta is located on a paved road between Fiais da Beira and Carregal do Sal. The village of Fiais da Beira has one or two cafes. Carregal do Sal is about 7 km away. In this small provincial town all important facilities are available such as restaurants, shops, supermarkets, post office, banks, medical practice, schools, library, weekly market and train station. The larger cities of Coimbra and Viseu are approximately 70 km and 45 km away respectively.
