What is it?
This is a special quinta bordering the river Dão and the river Beijós. The quinta has five ruins, one of which was a residence. The other ruins are a water mill and sheds. The total built-up area of the ruins is approximately 216 m². Most of the ruins are made of granite and part is made of brick.
How about the facilities?
The rivers that border the quinta always have water but there are also other sources on the site. Electricity is far away but the waterfall in the river Beijós in winter and the sun in summer are two interesting possibilities for sustainable energy within reach.
Any outdoor space?
The quinta consists of a plot of more than 16 hectares. A part is rough, rocky and steep, another part is agricultural land. Deciduous trees grow along the banks. The remaining vegetation is recovering from the forest fire of 2017.
Plots with two rivers and with this surface are very scarce. The beautiful Dão river with otters and kingfishers, the rocks worn away by the river Beijós make this a unique location.
The presence of a number of ruins, including a house, gives this property a residential destination. It is probably also possible to develop tourist activities.
Where is it?
This quinta is located about 3 km outside the village of Cabanas de Viriato. It is also not far from the Caramulo mountain range. Accessibility is a reasonably passable 1.7 km sand path with a 50 meter section that is difficult to access. In the area and in the Caramulo are opportunities for hiking, paragliding and there is a golf course at about 15 km.
The town of Tondela is about 15 km away. Here are the most important facilities such as restaurants, shops, supermarkets, post office, banks, medical practice, small hospital, schools, vocational education, swimming pool, tennis courts, library, theater and a weekly market. The larger city of Viseu is about 20 km away.
