What is it?
This abandoned quinta used to be a pig and cow breeding facility, as evidenced by the 1,000 m² of stables. In addition to the stables, there is a house on the site with two independent living units, each with its own entrance. The layout of the houses is the same, albeit in mirror image, and consists of a spacious living room with open kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom. The living area is over 300 m². Under the house are two garage and storage rooms of more than 240 m². Above the house is an attic.
The stables are now dilapidated and are registered as a ruin. The house is not a ruin, but is not in habitable condition anymore.
How about the facilities?
The facilities for water and electricity are present but are now shut down.
The houses and stables are on a plot of over 12 ha. The ground is flat and part of it is covered with eucaluptus. A young plantation of American oak was set up in another part of the site there is .
This quinta offers various possibilities in terms of location and size, such as restarting an (organic) farm, a holiday park for young people or just a nice place to live with lots of space. The exact possibilities have to be checked with the council of Tábua.
From the house and the ground are beautiful views of the mountains of Serra da Estrela, Serra do Açor and Serra do Caramulo. The domain is located about 4 km from the river Mondego.
Where is it?
The accessibility is good via a paved road. The village of Covelo has no amenities, but a few kilometers away are the villages of Ázere and Venda da Serra with several cafes. Arganil and Tábua are approximately 8 km away. These small provincial towns have the most important facilities such as shops, supermarkets, post office, restaurants, banks, doctor’s surgery, schools, library, bus station and weekly market. The larger city of Coimbra is approximately 55 km away.
