What is it?
This detached house was built in the beginning of 2000 and has always been very well maintained. The residential destination of the house is on the ground floor and the first floor. The ground floor has a living space of approximately 160 m² and consists of a hall (with fitted wardrobes) giving access to a bedroom, a bathroom (with bath and shower), a guest toilet and a large living room (53 m²). Next to the living room is a spacious fitted kitchen and a utility room. A porch surrounds three sides of the house. The parts adjoining the kitchen and living room are wide and covered. On the first floor, which is accessible via a fixed staircase in the living room, are a loft and two more bedrooms (with fitted wardrobes) and a bathroom (with shower). The area of this is approximately 110 m².
The lower floor is reached from the pantry via a fixed staircase. Here are a large garage, storage and technical room and wc, below the entire surface of the house.
What about the facilities?
Electricity and telephone / internet are connected. Drainage is via a septic tank. A 70 bore hole supplies domestic water. There is also a lot of own water from sources that have never been dry up to now. A connection to the water pipe is also possible.
The house meets the modern requirements of comfort. Walls, roofs and floor of the ground floor are insulated. The house has central heating on diesel and solar energy. The living floors have radiators and the ground floor also has underfloor heating. In the living room is a fireplace with built-in cassette. Behind the house, located south, is a swimming pool with purification via a salt-water system. The swimming pool is also connected to the solar water heater. For the benefit of the swimming pool there is an outdoor shower (with hot water) and a toilet. Next to the pool is a wood burning oven.
Is there outside space?
The house lies on a largely fenced plot of approximately 1.2 hectares. The plot is laid out in terraces with beautiful original granite walls and is in well maintained condition. A number of impressive and unique rockeries on the plot give the quinta extra cachet.
All terraces are accessible by tractor. The majority is suitable for agriculture. Around the house is an ornamental garden and a little further is a fertile vegetable garden. Here is also a greenhouse. In the garden are two ponds with fish, the ponds fed by their own sources. A large variety of fruit trees grows such as orange, madarin, grapefruit, kumquat, plum, cherry, apple and pomegranate. Furthermore, of course, olive trees and grapes.
The quinta has a beautiful wide view of the mountains of the Açor and the Serra da Estrela, but is not remote. That makes this quinta unique in its kind. In addition, the house is ready to move in and the quinta offers a wide range of natural resources.
Where is it?
The quinta is approximately two kilometers from Travanca de Lagos and four kilometers from Midões. The accessibility is good via a paved road. Travanca de Lagos and Midões are authentic Portuguese villages with small-scale commerce.
Oliveira do Hospital is approximately 6 km away. This is a small provincial town where the most important facilities are present such as shops, post office, banks, small hospital, schools and weekly market. The larger cities of Coimbra and Viseu are 70 km and 55 km respectively.
